The Wayne County Clerk serves as the general keeper of official records. The General Office records all births and deaths in Wayne County. The Wayne County Clerk also accepts applications for and records marriages, concealed weapons permits, notary commissions, assumed names and co-partnerships.

Please Note: Due to required maintenance to the State of Michigan's CPL program, we are unable to process CPL applications on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM.

The Vital Records Department is closed for lunch from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
