Boat Permit Application

Yearly boat permit applications for small non-motorized boats (canoe, kayak, rowboats) to be used at Newburgh Point in Livonia can be purchased for $5 at the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center in Westland. The boat permit is good for the current calendar year.

Commercial Advertising Permit Application

Commercial advertising permits should be obtained by anyone shooting a film or commercial in the Wayne County Parks system. Filming permits are $100 per day. In addition, film permits will need to provide a $1,000,000 insurance policy listing Wayne County Parks as additionally insured.

Dog Park Application

For a Dog Park permit, up-to-date city/township dog licenses and vaccination records (including rabies and distemper) are required.

Geocaching Permit Application

If you are looking to place a geocache in the Wayne County Parks system, please fill out the attached form and drop it off at the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center, There is no charge for the geocaching permit.

Ice Shanty Permit Application

If you are looking to place an ice shanty on Newburgh Lake in Livonia, please fill out the attached form and drop it off at the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center. There is no charge for the ice shanty permit.

Metal Detector Permit Application

A metal detector permit will allow holders to use metal detectors withing Wayne County parks. A metal detector is not provided by Wayne County.

Park Reservations

2026 Rental season is from May-September only!

Wayne County Parks Office will be open at Nankin Mills Interpretive Center for Park Permits Monday - Saturday from 9:00 PM - 4:00 PM (closed for Lunch from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM).

Photography Permit Application

Photography permits should be obtained by professional photographers taking photos in the Wayne County Parks system. Photo permits are $100 for the year for professional photographers.
