NOTE:

Candidate or public requests for an accounting/review of any outstanding campaign finance debt or filings will not be performed on the filing deadline. However, we will accept filings and payments without review. Requests for review must be done in writing; reviews can take up to 3 business days. In-person or remote consultations/reviews are done by appointment only.

Filing with the County Clerk:

The candidate must submit two original copies, or an original and a photocopy, of the completed Affidavit of Identity (If the candidate is utilizing the elections division to notarize the Affidavit, please do not sign it until instructed), along with payment or the minimum amount of original petitions required for the office that the candidate seeks. 

Accepted in-person forms of payment are, credit card (there is a surchage), certified check or money order made out to the Wayne County Clerk. (No personal checks)

Filing By Mail:

If by mail, the candidate must submit two original copies, or an original and a photocopy, of the signed, notarized, and completed Affidavit of Identity,

along with a certified check or money order made out to the Wayne County Clerk or original petitions. (No personal checks)

A filing that is mailed before the deadline but not received by the deadline is not considered to have been timely submitted.
