Commissioner Melissa Daub was first elected to the Wayne County Commission in 2018. She represents District 10, which includes Canton Township, the City of Plymouth, and a portion of Plymouth Township.

A proud graduate of Plymouth-Canton High School, Commissioner Daub holds a bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to serving on the Wayne County Commission, Commissioner Daub worked in accounting, with extensive experience in both leadership and individual contributor positions.

Commissioner Daub is a strong advocate for Plymouth-Canton and Wayne County on the state level as a member of the Michigan Association of Counties (MAC) Board of Directors, having served as Board President in 2025, and on the federal level as a member of the National Association of Counties (NACo) Board of Directors. She is a member of NACo's Committee on Telecommunications and Technology, NACo's Large Urban County Caucus (LUCC), and Women of NACo. In 2024, Commissioner Daub was chosen as one of the few county leaders to participate in NACo’s 19th Annual County Leadership Institute.

Within the Wayne County Commission, Commissioner Daub serves as chair of the Committee on Audit, vice-chair of the Committee on Public Safety, Judiciary and Homeland Security, and member of the Committee on Senior Citizens and Veterans Affairs. Additionally, she is a member of the Wayne County Women's Commission.

Commissioner Daub places a strong focus on regional and local leadership and is a member of the following organizations: Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) Executive Board, Wayne County Airport Authority Joint Airport Zoning Board, Wayne County Materials Management Planning Committee, and Face Addiction Now (formerly Families Against Narcotics) Advisory Board.

Commissioner Daub is also a proud member of the National Democratic County Officials, the Michigan Democratic Party, Canton Democratic Club (Vice-President), and Plymouth Democratic Club.
