Enterprise Applications Division
The Enterprise Applications Division is responsible for facilitating, enabling, and supporting application technologies which are used across the enterprise. The division provides application development and integration capabilities to enable new technologies and enhance existing technologies which are used to manage work across County departments. The division supports and provides integration services for the Wayne County website. The division provides Enterprise Reporting and Analytics development and integration capabilities for technologies owned by the enterprise.
Technology Development & Integration - The enterprise application development and integrations team is responsible for providing custom developed technology solutions for a variety of needs throughout the county. These technologies include custom developed web-based applications, database solutions, and other custom developed technologies. Our team is responsible for delivering integrations between applications. The team is mobile focused and supports ensuring all custom developed applications are mobile ready and responsive. Our team provides the county with enterprise level analytics and reporting capabilities. We develop solutions utilizing data warehouses, PowerBI, and additional reporting platforms. The development teams develop and support GIS and mapping technologies across the county. We strive to provide cutting edge geo-spatial solutions and web based front ends for accessing map-based capabilities for the county. This includes construction, electoral, health, and other mapping solutions. The development team provides website support and user training. Finally, the development team embraces a cloud-first strategy with goals to align to and maintain IaC/SaaS based cloud solutions designed to be scalable, cost effective, and user friendly.
Enterprise Application Support - The enterprise applications support team is responsible for strategizing, maintaining, and upgrading, Wayne County’s enterprise application technologies. The county’s enterprise technologies are defined as a technology used by 2 or more departments in the county which is considered business critical. Examples include Oracle Fusion, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, CityWorks, Check Printing, SharePoint and many more. The enterprise applications support team is committed to helping teams operate efficiently and bringing technology innovation into the future. We are committed to exploring and implementing operational best practices. Automation and streamlined support processes are a key performance indicator. The support team develops, manages, and maintains all enterprise application monitoring and alerting capabilities to ensure we maintain our services with the highest availability possible. The enterprise application and support team has a cloud first mandate. The team supports, helps develop and delivers, cloud-based solutions and patterns. We are dedicated to helping our communities do more with technology and creating a healthy ecosystem of applications that the county can rely on for years to come.
