When Will Work Take Place?

Construction is scheduled to begin on the Jefferson Bascule Bridge the week of July 18, 2022 and is estimated to be completed by the end of Summer 2022, barring any unforeseen delays or inclement weather.

What Should I Expect?

The Jefferson Avenue Bascule Bridge is anticipated to be closed to vehicular traffic starting the week of July 18th, 2022 for 45 days. Traffic will be detoured during this time. The Bascule Bridge will be left in an open position as to not affect marine traffic on the Rouge River.

Southbound traffic will be detoured utilizing Dearborn Street to Fort Street to Schaefer Hwy.

Reduced speeds and load restrictions may be posted.

Flaggers will be present as needed. Please use caution when traveling through work zones.
