Three Charged in Detroit Carjacking

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Brian Fasho Coleman, 26, of Harper Woods, Rajena Larmartique Linson, 25, and Ashton James Ruffin, 20, both of Detroit, in connection with the carjacking of a 31-year-old Sterling Heights man’s vehicle.

On July 14, 2026, between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., Defendant Linson and the victim were in the area of Balfour Road and Courville Street in Detroit when it is alleged that Defendants Coleman and Ruffin approached the victim armed with a handgun and a rifle. It is further alleged that Defendants Coleman, Linson, and Ruffin robbed the victim of his vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Brian Fasho Coleman has been charged with one count of Carjacking, one count of Felony Firearm, and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. Rajena Larmartique Linson has been charged with one count of Carjacking. Ashton James Ruffin has been charged with one count of Carjacking and one count of Felony Firearm. *

Defendants Coleman and Linson were arraigned this morning in 36th District Court before Magistrate Jeffrey Kleparek, and received a $100,000 cash/surety bond with a GPS tether. A bond re-determination hearing is scheduled for July 22, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., before Judge William McConico. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for July 30, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 5, 2026, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Ronald Giles. An update with Defendant Ruffin’s arraignment information will be sent out when a date is received.
