Roseville Teen Charged in 2024 Fatal Shooting of Detroit Teen

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Ryan Sinegal, 16, of Roseville, in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy, of Detroit. Defendant Sinegal will be waived and tried as an adult defendant.
On February 16, 2024, at approximately 1:34 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to the 16000 block of Mack Avenue for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located a heavily damaged vehicle, and the victim inside of the driver's seat of the vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
It is alleged that Defendant Sinegal produced and fired a handgun multiple times into the victim's vehicle, fatally wounding the 17-year-old, before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on April 1, 2025.
Ryan Sinegal has been charged with First-Degree Murder, two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder and three counts of Felony Firearm.*
He was arraigned and remanded to jail on April 2, 2025, in 36th District Court before Magistrate Laura Echartea. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for April 16, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for April 23, 2025, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Shawn Jacque.
