Detroit Man Charged in Sexual Assault of Five-Year-Old Girl at McDonal

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Joshua Joel-Eli Brown, 34, of Detroit, in connection with the sexual assault of a five-year-old girl, also of Detroit.
On October 30, 2025, at approximately 8:15 p.m., at a McDonald’s in the 6800 block of Michigan Avenue in Detroit, it is alleged that Defendant Brown followed the victim into the women’s restroom of the restaurant. It is then alleged that he had inappropriate sexual contact with the victim, before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on November 4, 2025.
Joshua Joel Eli Brown has been charged with Second-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct (Person Under 13, Defendant 17 Years of Age or Older).*
“The Detroit Police department did an excellent job investigating and apprehending the defendant. This case illustrates why we must remain vigilant when it comes to our children,” said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.
He was arraigned on November 5, 2025, before Magistrate Laura Echartea, and received a $250,000 cash/surety bond with a GPS tether and house arrest. A bond re-determination hearing is scheduled for November 7, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., before Judge William McConico. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for November 13, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for November 20, 2025, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Shawn Jacque.
