Dearborn Man Charged in Human Trafficking of Brazilian Woman

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Fareed George Hajjar, 57, of Dearborn, in connection with the human trafficking of Suzan Ferreira, 42, of Brazil, who was reported missing on June 24, 2024. On June 30, 2024, Northfield Township police officers discovered the victim’s lifeless body in a field in the 7800  block of Earhart Road in South Lyon, Michigan.

On June 30, 2024, at approximately 9:34 a.m., during the investigation for the missing victim, Dearborn police officers were led to the defendant’s residence located on Hampton Court, in Dearborn. It is alleged that on June 22, 2024, Defendant Hajjar transported the victim from her hotel in the 42000 block of Eleven Mile Road in Novi to his home in Dearborn to engage in sexual acts for money. More complete facts and evidence will be placed on the record in court at the Preliminary Examination.

Fareed George Hajjar has been charged with one count of  Prostitution – Transporting Person and  one count of Facilitating Travel Services for Purposes of Prostitution/Human Trafficking.*

“I hope that these charges are a wakeup call to those who choose to commit crimes like the ones that we have charged today. We have not forgotten Ms. Ferreira.,” said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

He was arraigned this morning in 19th District Court and received a $50,000 cash/surety bond with a GPS tether. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for July 16, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., before Judge Sam Salamey.
