Wayne County to begin road resurfacing projects in Huron Township

ROAD RESURFACING PROJECT TO BEGIN IN HURON TOWNSHIP 9.28.26.jpg

Wayne County Department of Public Services has announced the road resurfacing project schedule and traffic plan for Romine Rd.from Will Carleton to Willow Rd. located within Huron Township. This is a ten-day project running from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and closures will be implemented during these hours. This project will begin on Monday, September 28, 2026, subject to weather conditions and unforeseen delays.

Monday, September 28, 2026 – Thursday, October 8, 2026

Romine Rd. from Will Carleton to Willow Rd.

  • Traffic at the intersections of (Romine Rd. and Will Carleton) and (Romine Rd. and Willow Rd.) will be detoured, From Romine Road onto Bell Road from Will Carleton Road to Willow Rd.
  • Follow flagger instructions as they assist with traffic flow.

Days 1-5:

  • 9/28/2026 – 10/2/2026 will be Romine Road between Will Carleton Rd. and Willow Rd., northbound traffic will be closed (only southbound traffic will be open), local traffic only with a posted detour.
  • 10/3/2026 – 10/8/2026 will be Romine Road between Will Carleton Rd. and Willow Rd., southbound traffic will be closed (only northbound traffic will be open), local traffic only with a posted detour.

School buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass through the closure.

Driveway access will remain open for the duration of the project except when our crew is actively laying fresh asphalt. Access will be paused for approximately 30 minutes while the new mat is put down.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and patience in construction zones. Alternate routes are strongly recommended to avoid delays.

The Department of Public Services thanks the community for its understanding as crews work to complete this project safely and efficiently.
