Road resurfacing projects to begin in cities of Livonia & Northville

Wayne County Department of Public Services has announced the road resurfacing project schedule and traffic plan Haggerty Road to 7 Mile Project located within the Cities of Livonia and Northville. This is a nine-day project running from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and closures will be implemented during these hours. This project will begin on September 14, 2026, subject to weather conditions and unforeseen delays.

Monday, September 14, 2026 – Wednesday, September 23, 2026

Haggerty Road south of 7 Mile to just south of 8 Mile

  • Traffic on Haggerty between south of 7 Mile and just south of 7 Mile will have alternating traffic using stop and go operation.
  • Traffic at the intersections of (7 Mile and Haggerty) and will remain open with flagging operation for the duration of the project, with one exception; when our crew is actively laying fresh asphalt. Access will be paused for approximately 30 minutes while the new mat is put down.
  • Follow flagger instructions as they assist with traffic flow.

DAY 1-3:

  • 9/14/2026 to 9/17/2026 will be northbound and southbound Haggerty. Right lanes will be closed from south of 7 Mile to just south of 8 Mile.
  • Westbound 7 Mile - right lane closed east and west of Haggerty

DAY 4-6:

  • 9/17/2026 to 9/19/2026 will be northbound and southbound Haggerty; left and center lanes will be closed from south of 7 Mile to just south of 8 Mile.
  • Westbound 7 Mile - right lane closed east and west of Haggerty
  • No left turn northbound Haggerty to westbound 7 Mile

School buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass through the closure.

Driveway access will remain open for the duration of the project except when our crew is actively laying fresh asphalt. Access will be paused for approximately 30 minutes while the new mat is put down.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and patience in construction zones. Alternate routes are strongly recommended to avoid delays.

The Department of Public Services thanks the community for its understanding as crews work to complete this project safely and efficiently.
