Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Isaiah Lamar Gordon, 15, of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of Faith Williams, 65, and the non-fatal shooting of a 29-year-old woman, also of Detroit. Defendant Gordon will be waived and tried as an adult defendant.

On August 21, 2026, at approximately 11:10 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a liquor store located in the 15500 block of East Warren Avenue for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers observed the non-fatal victim outside of the store suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound, and Ms. Williams inside of the store suffering from a gunshot wound to the left arm that travelled to her neck. Medics arrived at the scene and pronounced Ms. Williams deceased. The non-fatal victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

It is alleged that Defendant Gordon fired a handgun at the victims, fatally wounding Ms. Williams and non-fatally wounding the 20-year-old victim. It is also alleged that the defendant fired a handgun at a passing vehicle firing at two people before fleeing the scene. The victims and the defendant did not know each other. Defendant Gordon’s brother surrendered him at the Ninth Precinct on August 22, 2026.

Isaiah Lamar Gordon has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, three counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, and four counts of Felony Firearm. *

“We are waiving this defendant to adult court. His alleged actions against our completely innocent victims were unprovoked and unimaginable. He must be held accountable for his actions in spite of his personal circumstances,” said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Juvenile Detention Facility today in 36th District Court before Magistrate William Burton. His Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for September 8, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., and his Preliminary Examination is scheduled for September 15, 2026, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Shawn Jacque.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
