Romulus Man Charged in Huron Township Non-Fatal Hit and Run

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Ray Woodrow, Jr., 78, of Romulus, in connection with a car crash that injured a 61-year-old man, of New Boston.
On September 14, 2026, at approximately 7:45 a.m., it is alleged that Defendant Woodrow was driving eastbound on Road near Huron River Drive in Huron Township, when he struck the victim while he was walking on the shoulder of Pennsylvania Road. It is further alleged that the defendant fled from the scene. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. Investigation by the Huron Township Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant later the same day.
Ray Woodrow, Jr., has been charged with one count of Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Serious Impairment or Death. *
He was arraigned this morning in 34th District Court, before Judge Lisa Martin, and received a $10,000/10% bond with the condition of no driving. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for September 29, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., before Judge Teresa Patton, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for October 6, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., before Judge Lisa Martin.
