Nurse Wilfredo Figueroa-Berrios is Charged in Five New CSC Cases

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Wilfredo Figueroa-Berrios, 47, of Wayne, in connection with five new sexual assault cases. *
December 23, 2021 – 34-year-old Woman Assaulted at Community Outreach for Psychiatric Emergencies
On December 23, 2021, at approximately 2:00 a.m., at the Community Outreach for Psychiatric Emergencies in the 33000 block of Schoolcraft Road in Livonia, it is alleged that the defendant was employed as a nurse when he sexually assaulted the then 34-year-old victim of Westland, when she was admitted as a patient. More complete facts and evidence will be placed on the record in court at the preliminary examination.
While reviewing another incident which was denied, this December 23, 2021, incident was discovered. The case was sent by the Livonia Police Department in February 2022, but it was not discovered earlier because there were no documents in the WCPO new case management system. This was not the fault of the Livonia Police Department. In September 2025, when WCPO found out, the Livonia Police Department was asked to re-send the warrant for review. The new digital case management system enabled staff to link the newly submitted warrants to those already under review.
Wilfredo Figueroa-Berrios has been charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct – Third Degree and Criminal Sexual Conduct – Fourth Degree. **
He was arraigned on January 22, 2026, before Judge Roger Spencer in 16th District Court and received a $500,000 cash/surety bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for January 29, 2026, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for February 5, 2026.
December 18, 2024 – 22-year-old Woman Sexually Assaulted at Sinai Grace Hospital (Warrant Presented on 9/23/25)
On December 18, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., at Sinai Grace Hospital in the 6000 block of West Outer Drive in Detroit, it is alleged that the defendant was employed as a nurse when he sexually assaulted the then 22-year-old victim of Detroit, when she was admitted as a patient. More complete facts and evidence will be placed on the record in court at the preliminary examination.

July 1, 2025 – 35-year-old Woman Sexually Assaulted at Sinai Grace Hospital (Warrant Presented on 9/25/25)
On July 1, 2025, at approximately 3:10 p.m., at Sinai Grace Hospital in the 6000 block of West Outer Drive in Detroit, it is alleged that the defendant was employed as a nurse when he sexually assaulted the then 35-year-old victim of Detroit, when she was admitted as a patient. July 28, 2025 – 24-year-old Woman Sexually Assaulted at Sinai Grace Hospital (Warrant Presented on 8/26/25)
On July 28, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., at Sinai Grace Hospital in the 6000 block of West Outer Drive in Detroit, it is alleged that the defendant was employed as a nurse when he sexually assaulted the then 24-year-old victim of Detroit, when she was admitted as a patient. More complete facts and evidence will be placed on the record in court at the preliminary examination.
Wilfredo Figueroa-Berrios has been charged with two counts of Sexual Contact – Misrepresentation of Medical Treatment, and one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Fourth Degree. **
August 24, 2025 – 26-year-old Woman Sexually Assaulted at Sinai Grace Hospital (Warrant Presented on 8/29/25)
On August 24, 2025, between 5:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m., at Sinai Grace Hospital in the 6000 block of West Outer Drive in Detroit, it is alleged that the defendant was employed as a nurse when he sexually assaulted the then 26-year-old victim of Detroit, when she was admitted as a patient. More complete facts and evidence will be placed on the record in court at the preliminary examination.
Wilfredo Figueroa-Berrios has been charged with two counts of Sexual Contact – Misrepresentation of Medical Treatment, and one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Fourth Degree. **
He was arraigned on all four Detroit cases on January 27, 2026, before Magistrate Joseph Boyer and received a $500,000 cash/surety bond with a GPS tether, house arrest, and no contact with the complaining witnesses in each case. The bond re-determination hearings are scheduled for January 29, 2026, before Judge William McConico. The Probable Cause Conferences are scheduled for February 3, 2026, and the Preliminary Examinations are scheduled for February 10, 2026, before Judge Shawn Jacque.
When WCPO received the warrants, they began the process of reviewing them. It is typical that additional and necessary information is requested from the police in these cases, so they take time to charge. Since the defendant remained in jail during the process WCPO was certain that no others were in danger as we continued to process the new cases.
