Juvenile Charged w/ Possession of a Weapon at Tomlinson Middle School

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged a 13-year-old juvenile male, of Inkster, in connection with possessing a weapon in a weapons-free school zone.

On March 23, 2026, at approximately 11:18 a.m., at Tomlinson Middle School, located in the 26900 block of Annapolis Street in Inkster, it is alleged that the juvenile brought an unsecured handgun and ammunition into the school in his backpack. Inkster police officers were dispatched to the school and took the juvenile into custody.

The juvenile respondent has been charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of a Weapon in a Weapons-Free School Zone. *

The preliminary hearing was held this afternoon before Referee Leslie Graves at the Juvenile Detention Facility. The juvenile received a $3,000/10% bond and is ordered to have no possession of firearms or ammunition and to comply with school disciplinary action. The Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for April 14, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., via Zoom, before Referee Edward Hill.
