Taylor Man Charged with Unlawful Imprisonment & Assault of Girlfriend

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Bradly Carl Dickens, 48, of Taylor, in connection with the unlawful imprisonment and assault of a 62-year-old woman, also of Taylor. The victim was the girlfriend of Defendant Dickens.

On August 30, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Taylor police officers were dispatched to the area of Beech Daly Road and Leroy Street for a reported assault and battery. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim lying on the ground, suffering from an injury to her head. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

It is alleged that Defendant Dickens physically assaulted the victim.at her residence in the 15200 block of Kerstyn Street, It is then alleged that the defendant forced the victim into his vehicle and drove to the area of Beech Daly Road and Leroy Street in Taylor before striking the victim multiple times in her head with a handgun and firing the handgun inside of the vehicle multiple times. The victim then exited the defendant’s vehicle and Defendant Dickens fled from the scene. Investigation by the Taylor Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on September 23, 2025.

Bradly Carl Dickens has been charged with Unlawful Imprisonment, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, Domestic Violence, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, and four counts of Felony Firearm*

He was arraigned this afternoon in 23rd District Court and received a $200,000 cash bond with a GPS tether. Defendant Dickens was also ordered to have no contact with the victim, no alcohol or drugs, and no firearms. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for October 6, 2025, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for October 15, 2025.
