Mount Morris Woman Charged in Livonia Fatal Hit-and-Run

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Tammy Sandoval, 55, of Mount Morris, Michigan, in connection with a car crash that killed a 3-year-old boy, and injured a 3-year-old girl, and a 28-year-old woman, all of Detroit.

On June 29, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., while driving northbound on Merriman Road near Lyndon Street in Livonia, it is alleged that the defendant struck the victims with her vehicle, before fleeing the scene. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the victims to a local hospital for treatment. The 3-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Investigation by the Livonia Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on June 30, 2025.

Tammy Sandoval has been charged with one count of Operating While License Suspended, Revoked, or Denied – Causing Death, two counts of Operating While Licenses Suspended, Revoked, or Denied – Causing Serious Injury, one count of Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident While At Fault – Causing Death, and two counts of Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident – Causing Serious Impairment.*

She was arraigned this morning in 16th District Court and given a $600,000 cash/surety bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for July 10, 2025, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for July 17, 2025, before Judge Sean Kavanagh.
