Farmington Hills Man Charged With Accosting a 15-Year-Old Boy

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Jamel Rishard Hoze, 38, of Farmington Hills, in connection with using a computer to commit a crime by accosting a 15-year-old boy, of Livonia.

On April 17, 2025, at approximately 8:47 p.m., it is alleged that Defendant Hoze used an online dating app to solicit the victim to meet him in a parking structure in the 37000 block of Six Mile Road in Livonia for the purpose of having inappropriate sexual contact. It is also alleged that the defendant used a social media app to send inappropriate photos of himself to the victim. More complete facts and evidence in the case will be presented at the preliminary examination. Jamel Rishard Hoze has been charged with Accosting a Minor for Immoral Purposes, Using a Computer to Commit a Crime, and Distributing Sexually Explicit Matter to a Child.*

“We must be proactive in continuing to educate and communicate with our children about online predators. There are real dangers in the online world, and we must make sure they are not sharing personal information with strangers online,” said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

He was arraigned this afternoon in 16th District Court before Magistrate Roger Spence. He received a $300,000 cash bond with a GPS tether and is ordered to have no contact with minors. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for September 25, 2025, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for October 2, 2025.
