DDOT Bus Driver Charged in Non-Fatal Stabbing of Passenger

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Troy A. Lincoln, 55, of West Bloomfield, in connection with the non-fatal stabbing of a 25-year-old man, of Warren. Lincoln is a bus driver for the Detroit Department of Transportation.

On July 1, 2025, at approximately 6:29 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to the area of Gratiot Avenue and East Seven Mile Road for a reported stabbing. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim suffering from lacerations to the left side of his abdomen and the right side of his face. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

It is alleged that a verbal altercation between the defendant and the victim escalated, and Defendant Lincoln produced a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times, non-fatally injuring him. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant a short time later.

Troy A. Lincoln has been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm and Felonious Assault. *

He was arraigned today in 36th District Court and received a $50,000/10% bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for July 11, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., before Judge Ronald Giles.
