Three Students Charged in Wayne County School Threat Case

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged three juvenile respondents today. The three cases involved alleged threats of violence against multiple Wayne County Schools.

Juveniles do not receive adult sentences. Upon conviction, the judge will fashion a sentence considering the crime committed, and the rehabilitation of the juvenile offender.

Juveniles Charged for Conduct on December 6, 8, 2021. *

  1. Male (DOB:08/15/2009), Student at Detroit Innovation Academy taking virtual classes, Detroit
    Charged for Alleged Conduct on December 6, 2021 - Intentional Threat to Commit Violence against School, School Employees or Students and Malicious Use of a Telecommunications Device. *
    • Bond: $1,000/10%
    • Next Court Date: Pre-Trial on January 5, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. before Referee Charles Wilson.
  2. Male (DOB: 07/15/2008), Student at Taylor Exemplar Academy, Taylor
    Charged for Alleged Conduct on December 8, 2021 - Intentional Threat to Commit Violence against School, School Employees or Students. *
    • Bond: $1,000/10%
    • Next Court Date: Pre-Trial on January 18, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. before Referee Mona Youssef.
  3. Male (DOB: 09/07/2007), Student at Huron High School, New Boston
    Charged for Alleged Conduct on December 8, 2021 - Intentional Threat to Commit Violence against School, School Employees or Students. *
    • Bond: $3,000/10%
    • Next Court Date: Pre-Trial on December 22, 2021 at 9:30 am. before Referee Sean Kerman.
