Detroit Woman Charged In Shooting Of Boyfriend

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Kiantay Lovett-McCall, 27 (DOB: 5/25/1993), in connection with the fatal shooting of her boyfriend Willie Mills, 31, both of Detroit.

On January 1, 2021 at 1:39 a.m. Detroit police officers were dispatched to a house in the 18090 block of Griggs shared by Ms. Lovett-McCall and Mr. Mills. When they arrived, the defendant was outside of the house and detained. The officers observed the defendant lying on the floor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds upon his body. Medics arrived and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.

It is alleged that the defendant and Mr. Mills had an argument that culminated in the defendant getting her gun and shooting her boyfriend multiple times. Further facts and evidence in the case will be presented in court at the preliminary examination.

On Sunday, January 3,2021, she was arraigned on the charges of First-Degree Murder and Felony Firearm* in 34th District Court and received a $1 million dollar bond. The Probable Couse Conference is scheduled for January 14, 2021, before Judge Ronald Giles. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.
