Detroit Man Charged in Fatal Shooting of Warren Woman

Today Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Bennie James Lane, 21, (DOB: 04/30/1999), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old Warren woman. Jarvis Nathaniel Fisher, II, 18 (DOB:11/28/2002), Patrick White,17 (DOB:09/01/2003), and Jayshun White, 18 (DOB:07/18/2002), all of Detroit, were also charged in this case.
On February 22, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., the 17-year-old victim was the backseat passenger in a car with a 19-year-old Hazel Park man and another 17-year-old Warren woman, when she was shot at Clayburn and Majestic in Detroit. It is alleged that Fisher fatally shot the 17-year-old victim and assaulted the other victims during the robbery. The 17-year-old shooting victim was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her wounds. No further facts are being released because the investigation is ongoing.
Bennie Lane has been charged with one count of Accessory After the Fact, one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and one count of Lying to the Police during a Violent Crime Investigation. * He was arraigned today in 36th District Court and given a $10,000 bond. His Probable Cause Conference is on May 3, 2021 and his Preliminary Examination is on May 10, 2021 in 36th District Court before Judge Ronald Giles. On March 1, 2021 Fisher was charged with Felony Murder, two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to Rob – Armed, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and four counts of Felony Firearm. * He was arraigned and remanded to jail in 36th District Court. His Preliminary Examination is on May 18, 2021 in 36th District Court before Judge Roberta Archer.
On March 4, 2021, both Patrick White and Jayshun White were charged with Felony Murder, two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to Rob - Armed, and four counts of Felony Firearm.* The defendants were arraigned and remanded to jail in 36th District Court. Their Preliminary Examination is scheduled for May 18, 2021 in 36th District Court before Judge Roberta Archer.
