FROM BASELINE TO THE RIVER: THE ABOLITIONISTS AND UNDERGROUND RAILROAD MOVEMENTS IN WAYNE COUNTY IN THE NINETEENTH CENTURY

Wayne County Parks welcomes guest speaker Professor Rochelle E. Danquah for this program, which explores the rich history and heritage of the Underground Railroad movement in Wayne County.  Ms. Danquah is an educator, historian, and activist known for her work in documenting, researching, and promoting American and African American history and culture, particularly the stories of the enslaved, freedom seekers, and the antislavery and abolitionist movements from the colonial era to the Civil War.

The fee is $5.00 per person ($6.00 if out of county) and is recommended for ages ten and older.

Pre-registration is required by calling (734) 261-1990 or by visiting Nankin Mills Interpretive Center, which is open 9:00 AM-4:00 PM Monday through Saturday (closed Noon-1:00 PM for lunch).
