Statement from Wayne County Executive Warren Evans on the passing of Roy Levy Williams

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Roy Levy Williams. As a young businessman and aspiring community leader, I closely watched the career of Mr. Williams as he climbed the ranks and earned positions with multiple governors, on local commissions boards, as an automotive executive, and more. As the CEO of the Detroit Urban League, his dedication to fair employment and civil rights was at the forefront of everything he did. No matter the opportunity, he was led by his passion for helping others. His life and career should serve as a true reflection of how one can work in business, while maintaining a commitment to improving the quality of life for the underserved. My family sends love and prayers to Mr. Williams' family and loved ones."
