Commissioner Baker McCormick honored by Tigers organization

Wayne County Commissioner Monique Baker McCormick, a military veteran, was honored on the field by the Detroit Tigers Cares Organization during a recent game at Comerica Park.

"I am so very proud to receive this recognition," said Commissioner Baker McCormick, who served in the U.S. Army. "I believe we pay for our space on this earth by giving and serving and I'd like to thank the Detroit Tigers Cares Organization for this incredible honor."

Commissioner Baker McCormick, who represents northwest Detroit and Redford Township, received a personalized Detroit Tigers uniform shirt during Saluting Our Heroes, a program held during Tigers games to recognized those who have served our country in the armed forces.
